Elmer McMichael Jr., 80, of Rushville, died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005, at Miller's Merry Manor.
Born June 24, 1925, in Rush County, he was the son of Elmer McMichael Sr. and Julia (Gahimer) McMichael, both deceased. He married Martha N. Small Aug. 24, 1949; she survives.
Mr. McMichael was a 1943 graduate of Arlington High School and lived most of his life in Rush County. A farmer, he had also worked at Dana Corp. until retiring in 1983 after 15 years of service. He also worked for many years with Walter McMichael drilling gas wells.
Survivors in addition to his wife include one son, Max Allen McMichael of Suffolk, Va.; one daughter, Melissa Jane (Mrs. Donald) Wall of Arlington; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Moster & Cox Mortuary in Rushville with the Revs. Doug Wall and Wesley Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington East Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson Association or the Rush County Cancer Fund at the Rush County Community Foundation.
