Mike was the son of Elmer "Bud" and Bette Harris Manning. He attended Tannehill School and graduated from McAlester High School in 1965. He served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam returning home in 1969. He married Beth Reimer Dec. 26, 1969, and she preceded him in death. He worked as a driver for UPS before retiring. He married Donna Cox Oct. 31, 2009. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming. He passed away at his residence at the age of 61. Survivors include his mother, Bette Logsdon and husband, Jim, of McAlester; wife, Donna, of the home; son, Jody Manning and wife, Leann, of Bristow; daughter, Julie Powell and Mike Baker, of McAlester; grandchildren, Colten Powell, Sara Powell, Averie Morton, Alexa Morton. And, stepdaughters and spouse, Michelle Gray, of Dallas, Texas, Laura and Lesley Wood, of McAlester; stepgrandchildren, Olivia Williams, Elijah Williams, of Dallas, Texas; sister, Carol Painter and husband, Jimmy, of McAlester, and nieces, Leslie Truly, Becky Cope. He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer "Bud" Manning, and his first wife Beth Manning. Pallbearers include Daryl Clifton, Dave Grantham, Teddy Rogers, Paul Giaudrone, Ty Giaudrone and Norman Farmer. Honorary pallbearers include L.J. Hale, Dobb Clifton and Charlie Sanders. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Bishop Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Gerald Kerns officiating. Burial will be at Tannehill Cemetery under direction of Bishop Funeral Service.
