Fifteen year old son of John Reiley Carlisle and Frances Lorraine Harmon accidently drowned at Independence Day picnic, probably near Peace Valley, MO, although location is unsure. Older siblings: Elsie, Everett, Myrtle, Mamye, Bessie, Maude, Nettie, and John R. Carlisle. The family and friends always called him Wayne instead of Alan. He was the youngest of 9 children. Frances, his mother, in a taped conversation when she was nearly 103 years old stated that Wayne's father, concerning Wayne's untimely death, "never could give him up" Wayne was buried in Wyuka Cemetery, Lincoln, Lancaster Co., NE near the graves of his parents.
