Treva Alice Burns, age 85, of Neodesha, Kansas died Sunday, February 16, 2003 at the St. Francis Campus Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. Treva was born January 4, 1918 in Columbus, Kansas to Isaac and Ina (Boston) Lee. Treva was raised in Neodesha, Kansas and attended the Neodesha School System. On January 1, 1936 Treva married Francis A. "Pinky" Burns in Neodesha, Kansas where they made their home. Treva was a homemaker and also bookkeeper for her and her husbands Service Station. Francis A. Pinky Burns preceded her in death on November 27, 1995. She was a member of the Eastern Star, the Royal Neighbors and the First Presbyterian Church in Neodesha, Kansas. Survivors include two sons Robert Burns of Cape Gerardeou, Missouri and Randy Burns of Fredonia, Kansas; three sisters Faye Alexander of Kansas City, Kansas; Thelma Logan of Kenbridge, Virginia and Chris French of Weslaco, Texas; one brother Harry Lee of Columbus, Kansas. Two grandchildren and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death one brother and seven sisters. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 21, 2003 at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Marcy A. Campbell of the First Presbyterian Church in Neodesha, Kansas. Burial will follow in the Fredonia Cemetery under the direction of the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home. Visitation hours will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 19, 2003 and from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2003 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home. The family has suggested memorials to the First Presbyterian Church and contributions may be left at the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home.
