Bernice Elizabeth Arndt, 77, of Valparaiso, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2008. She was born January 28, 1931 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Wilbur Leon and Sarah (Desotell) Nelson. Bernice was a photo finisher for 20 years with Burrell Colour. On August 7, 1948, Bernice married Robert Arndt, who survives in Valparaiso. Also Surviving are her children: Jeanne (Leonard) Antrim and Donald Arndt of Valparaiso, Becky (Richard) Dunn of Crown Point, and Larry Arndt and Terry Arndt of Valparaiso; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Mary Brown of Crown Point; brother, Albert Nelson of Wheeler; and sister Jeanne Smith of Texas also survive. She was preceded in death by her father, Wilbur; her mother, Sarah Huseman; daughter, Diana Arndt; son, Ronald Arndt; three brothers and one sister. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 14, 2008 from 2:00-4:00 PM at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe Street, Valparaiso, IN. Funeral services will be at 4:00 PM Sunday with Rev. Brenda Ludwig officiating.
