Born December 12, 1934 in Fish Lake to the late Wilbur and Sarah Nelson. He was the oldest of ten children. Al retired from Bethlehem Steel where he was a machine shop foreman with over thirty years of service. He also proudly served in the US Army, 82nd Airborne.

He was preceded in death by his son Michael; his parents; and seven brothers and sisters.
