Annie (Anna)Reta Ferrell was born to Mary “Mollie” Ayers in Ardmore, Oklahoma Territory in 1890. Her mother was widowed by 1900, and Annie was raised by her mother with her younger brother Thomas Stanley Ayers. She attended school through eighth grade. Her family moved to Morgan’s Point, and when she was 18 in 1908, Annie married William Franklin Ferrell. Anna and William raised their family in Morgan’s Point and lived there for the rest of their lives. They bought a house in 1920 and a radio in 1930 and sent their kids to school. They had six children between 1910 and 1931—Lester, Audrey, Alberta, Vera, Clara, and Jack. William worked as a fisherman and as a fireman in an oil refinery, then as an oil field worker and then again as a fisherman. By 1940, William was disabled and Anne worked as a seamstress for the government on salary. William died in 1944. Annie died in 1952 in a Pasadena hospital at age 62.
