The Charmian, Pa. native had lived in Georgetown since 1957, coming from Charmian, Pa. He was a member of the Georgetown United Methodist Church and had retired after 23 years as a truck driver with the Putnam County Road Department. He enjoyed listening to music, gardening, car racing and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ida Marjorie Benchoff, Georgetown; son, Dale H. Benchoff, Jacksonville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gayle T. and Marty Robideaux, St. Augustine; and Elaine and Terry Langston, Satsuma; brother, Floyd Benchoff, Blue Ridge Summit, Pa.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m., Feb. 10 at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home of Palatka.
Private family burial will follow in Georgetown Cemetery.
