Funeral services for Garnett Maxine Peacock, 81, of Theodosia, were held Wednesday, April 13, at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Gainesville with Doyle Turner officiating. Burial was in Lutie Cemetery.
Mrs. Peacock died Sunday, April 10, 2005, in Kansas City, after a six month battle with cancer. She was born June 2, 1923, in Ocie, the daughter of Aaron P. and Daisy Mae Taber, She was married to Gordon Peacock for 55 years.
She enjoyed her children, nieces, nephews, neighbors, friends, and playing and singing music with her husband.
Mrs. Peacock is survived by one son, Joe Peacock and his wife, Patty of Kansas City; two daughters, Sandra of North Kansas City and Judy Wordsworth and her husband, Jim, of Olathe, Kan.; two grandsons, Jimmy Wordsworth of Kansas City and Jeff Wordsworth and his wife, Jamie, of Overland Park, Kan.; three great grandchildren, Kyle, Abby and Brady Wordsworth of Overland Park, Kan.; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon, in 2000; her parents; seven brothers and sisters, Arthur Taber, Joe Taber, Dolly Myers, Rutha Myers, Tiny Wright, Mima Coulter and Willard Schofield.
Pallbearers were Jim Wordsworth, Jeff Wordsworth, Jimmy Wordsworth, Harlin Clayton, Auttie Perry, Monroe Simmons, Geroge Randall and Wendell Taber.
