Kathryn Frances "Kathy" Meyer, age 50, of St. Paul, Minn., formerly of Pierz, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2010, at The Pillars in St. Paul.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz, Minn., with Rev. Gerald Dalseth officiating.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday, March 22, and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday, March 23, all at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Pierz.
There is a rosary at 4:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home followed by a parish prayer service at 7 p.m.

Kathryn Frances Meyer was born on March 11, 1960, at St. Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls, Minn., to Leander and Catherine Meyer.
Kathy graduated from Healy High in 1978.
She was very active in high school participating in basketball and softball.She attended St. Cloud State University graduating in 1983.
In 1983, She completed an internship at the Whitney Senior Center in St. Cloud during the spring quarter. One of her big projects was to oversee a production of the musical, "Minnesota". They had several thousand people attend the musical in five performances at St. Cloud State University. Kathy worked at the Little Falls Senior Center in Little Falls for 2 1/2 years.
On Jan. 5, 1987,she began working at the Coon Rapids Senior Center.Highlights were many but included establishing a relationship and sponsorship by the City of Coon Rapids and moving into a new facility in 1996.The Senior Center is Kathy's legacy, as she gave it a firm and established foundation. In 1991, Kathy won the Outstanding Senior Service Award from the Minnesota Association of Senior Services (MASS). On Oct. 22, 1999, she retired from the Coon Rapids Senior Center. Kathy enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, line dancing and golfing. She had a great sense of humor and was the life of the party. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Kathy is survived by her parents Leander M. and Catherine M. Meyer of Pierz, Minn.; life partner Kathy Muehlbauer of St. Paul, Minn.; siblings Clyde Meyer of Brainerd, Minn., Jerome Meyer and wife, Lydia, of Eagan, Minn., Cheryl Silva and husband, Bruce, of Wolcott, Conn., David Meyer and wife, Jennifer, of Manalapan, N.J.; and 11 nieces and nephews.

Kathy was preceded in death by her sister, Mary C. Schraut; brothers Leroy and Leon Meyer; and life partner's parents Milton and Elizabeth Muehlbauer.

In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to the family of Kathryn Meyer to help with medical expenses.
