Leon Meyer, age 33, a resident of Pierz, died March 13 at his home.
Funeral services were held on March 16, 1991, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz with Father Robert Landsberger and Pastor Nels Lillejord officiating. Kathryn Meyer was the lector. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
Leon was born in Little Falls on June 23, 1957 to Leander M. and Catherine (Banach) Meyer. He attended school in Pierz and graduated from high school in 1975. He married Linda Pantzke on May 30, 1986 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Little Falls. Leon worked for FMC in North Minneapolis as well as farmed in Hillman Township east of Pierz. He was an avid runner and a member of St. Cloud River Runners and the Swamp Stumper Snowmobile Club of Hillman.
Survivors include his wife, Linda; parents, Leander M. and Catherine of Pierz; grandfather, William Meyer of St. Mary's Villa; two stepsons, Adam and Luke; three brothers, Clyde of Baxter, Jerome of Minneapolis and David of Anoka; three sisters, Mary Schraut of St. Cloud, Mrs. Bruce (Cheryl) Silva of Connecticut and Kathryn Meyer of Little Canada. He is preceded in death by one brother, LeRoy; grandparents, Peter and Catherine Banach and Mrs. William (Catherine) Meyer.
Pallbearers were Clyde, Jerome and David Meyer, Richard, Curtis and Joel Pantzke.
