Every day we are reminded that in the midst of life we are in death. Last Wednesday evening Mr. W. C. Jett went to the depot to see his wife and daughter-in-law start on a trip to the Parsons fair. The train had left the depot but a few minutes when Mr. Jett started back home. He suddenly reeled and fell on the platform, and died instantly without speaking. Kind friends carried him to his home. Mrs. Jett was brought back from Parsons the next morning in a livery rig. His death was sudden and was a sad blow to Mrs. Jett and Alfred the only son remaining at home. Mr. Jett was one of the oldest settlers in the county. He was a member of the M. E. Church and has always lived a consistent Christian life. He was a quiet unassuming man and was universally esteemed– McCune Times
