Horace Wilson Jett was born Jan. 10, 1858, in Bond county, Illinois, died May 10, 1907, at ?:45 a. m. He was united in marriage to Drucilla Ann Ross, Sept. 8, 1880. To this union eight children were born, seven of whom survive him. He was truly converted Jan. 29, 1863, and united with the C. P. church at Donnellson. In September 1899 he cast his lot with the M. E. church of Donnellson and remained a faithful member of this until he was called to the church Triumphant.

He leaves behind a bereft wife and seven broken hearted children, an aged mother, one brother and one sister, besides a host of relatives and friends to mourn their very great loss.

Brother Jett was one who strongly advocated the devotion of Bible Holiness as taught by the Wesleys, and the M, E. Church, and enjoyed the experience for a number of years before God called him from labor to reward. The funeral services were conduct-el by his pastor, W. T. Dunn, assisted by W. J. Young, L. Elder in the M. E. Church. The services were held in the Presbyterian church in order that there might be room for the audience and still all could not get in. He was loved by all who knew him, as was clearly manifested by the great number who were weeping in the congregation.

He was superintendent of the Methodist Sunday School at Donnellson at the time of his death . While the family has lost a kind, affectionate husband and father, the church a true and faithful member, and the community a loyal citizen, Heaven has gained a redeemed spirit. His remains were quietly laid to rest Sunday at 1 o'clock to await the bright and glorious resurrection. Hillsbora News. Horace was a son of Mrs. W, D. Cook and when in his younger days, lived in McCune and will be l remembered by several of our people.
