BLACKSHEAR - A native and lifelong resident of Blackshear, Mr. Burgsteiner was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Blackshear and was a car man with the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad. Long active in sports, he had served as coach for the midget football team in Blackshear for 11 years and was an active member of the Blackshear Jaycees. He was involved in the Blackshear Fellowship Club and Carman's Local organizations.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Henderson Burgsteiner, Blackshear; a son, John Daniel Burgsteiner, Blackshear; his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Alton Burgsteiner and a brother, Danny Burgsteiner, all of Blackshear.
Funeral service for Mr. Burgsteiner will be at 4 p.m. tomorrow from the Blackshear First United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Blackshear Cemetery.
Clough-Pearson Funeral Home of Blackshear is in charge of arrangements.
