Horace was a Farmer in Bucks County. He was born on the Atkinson family farm in Upper Makefield Twp. He was a son of Abraham and Johannah (Kepler) Atkinson. He was married twice. His first wife was Abi Kimble. They were married on July 20th 1883. They divorced in 1887. They had one daughter together named Sara. He married a second time on Aug 23rd, 1888 in Lambertville, NJ to Caroline "Carrie" VanPelt Frankenfield. They had 8 children. Abraham who married Ida Krewson, John Lee who married sisters Elsie and Margaret "Ella" Earl, Jennie Washburn who married Raymond Bassett, Harry Frankenfield who married Pearl Kirk, Horace Lester who married Emma Worthington, Addie Mae who married Frank Soden, Carrie Clayton who married Alfred Pidcock and Anna Daniels who married Charles Dinlocker.

Horace later became the owner of the old Atkinson family homestead sometime between Sept 1900 and Dec 1903.

Horace died during a winter snowstorm while delivering mail on Windy Bush Road near his home.
