Funeral for Aaron Clopton, 83, of Courtland will be Saturday at noon at Jackson Chapel CME Church in Courtland with the Rev. Gregory Woods, officiating and Reynolds Funeral Home directing.
Burial will be in Rocky Hill Cemetery in Courtland. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.
Mr. Clopton died Sunday, Nov. 3, 1997, at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center. The Lawrence County native was born Aug. 1, 1914, to Napoleon and Rosie Clopton. He was a World War II veteran and a retired school bus driver for Lawrence County.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita Clopton; seven sons, James Aaron Clopton, Cedric Clopton, Charles Clopton and James ONeal Elliott, all of Chicago, George Clopton of Atlanta, Ronnie Clopton of Huntsville and Samuel Elliott of Courtland, a daughter, Bernice Elliott of Gary, Ind.; and one brother, Earl Clopton of Kansas City of Kansas City, Mo.
Nephews will be pallbearers.
