Mr. Skipworth took his own Life, his wife Mrs. Thelma Wright Skipworth was visiting her parents in Hattiesburg at the time of his death. He was the Band Director and Principal of Kosciusko High School, Kosciusko, Mississippi at the time of his death. He was known as one of the best Bandmasters of Mississippi. He was the director since 1931, and had consistently led the band to take top honors in the state band contests.
