Martha Ellen and Jasper Fairbanks adopted Eri, the only child they reared. Her nieces Mildred Agnes and Mabel Ione Conner lived with their Aunt Martha until she died. Martha was married to George Barker at this time. Mildred and her sister Mabel were the daughters of Bessie Ann Shields. Martha always had beautiful long hair.
