FINAL SERVICES FOR ELIHUE REHLING HELD
Elihue Rehling, a brief notice of whose death appeared in this paper last week, was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Rehling, pioneer residents of this locality.
He was born in Roscoe township February 18 1865 and spent his entire life in this immediate locality. He died suddenly of heart failure at his home in the Villiage June 18 at the age of 66 years and four months.
Mr. Rehling who was a bachelor is survived by six sisters;
Mrs. J.B Closner Sr. , Mrs. Henry Kittleson, Pine Island, Mrs. William Sieman California,
Mrs. Will Neer, Oberon N.D. Mrs. M.D. Emeott, St. Paul Mrs. Edward Brink, Cocoa Florida
and seven brothers; Lewis, Arthur, Robert and Fred of Pine Island Frank of Oronoco, Charles, of Westport S.D. and Joseph of Oberon N.D.
His parents and one sister Mrs. Harvey Moulton preceded him in death several years ago.
Funeral services were held at the M.E. Church Saturday afternoon Rev I.N. Goodell officiating iterment in Pine Island cemetery.
Relatives from a distance who attended were ; Mrs. Harry Emeott, Mrs. Russell Carpenter, Ed Rehling, Clarence McCarty, Mildred Rehling, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Scofield, Mr. and Mrs. Amos Scofield, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Rehling.
Pall bearers were six nephews; Merle Rehling, Henry Kittleson Jr.,Francis Rehling, Clarence McCarty, Lyle Rehling, and William Rehling.
Mr. Rehling was widely known in this locality and was well liked by all who knew him. He was a kindly man sunny tempered and cheerful and his genial greeting will be sadly missed, especially by those most closely associated with him.
