Alma Minnie Ride, 92, of Fleming, died Saturday, May 29, 2004, in Haxtun. Visitation is Thursday, June 3 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services are Friday, June 4, at 10:30 am. at LeRoyUnited Methodist Church with Revs. Al Strauss and Keith Hudiburgh officiatitig. Burial will follow at LeRoy Cemetery
Mrs. Ride was born Aug. 9, 1912, to John C. Schachterle and Minnie (Kaepernick) Schachterle in Rockland.She graduated from school in Rockland.
On March 9, 1933, she married Paul W Ride in Rockland on her parents' homestead. She was a member of United Methodist Women, and enjoyed gardening, baking, crocheting and fishing.
She is survived by husband Paul Ride; son Larry Ride and wife Chris, all of Fleming; foster son Vernon Mellott and wife Ellen, of Cheyenne, Wyo.; grandchildren Michele Ballard and husband Kenneth, of Victoria, Texas, and Justin P. Ride and fiancé Elizabeth Padilla, of Fleming; and great- grandchildren Sylar and Trenton Ballard, of Victoria.
