Sanford Johnson, 80, died Tuesday, January 4, in the V. A. Hospital in Huntington, WV after an extended illness.
Mr. Johnson was born January 28, 1896,in Magoffin County, the son of John and Jayne Green Johnson. He was a resident of Sitka and a member of the Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Tera Lemaster Johnson; and three sons, Orbin Johnson of Flat Gap, Marvin Johnson of Sunbury, OH, and Harmon Burton of Sitka.
Funeral services were held Thursday, January 7, in the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Daniels Cemetery at Sitka.
