Burley Comer Ledbetter, 74, pioneer farmer of Madison County, died at his home in the southwest part of Huntsville at 7:40 p.m. Tuesday evening, September 20 of a heart ailment.

Services were held this afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Brashears Chapel in Huntsville, with the Rev. Cecil Garrison officiating and interment was in the Huntsville cemetery. Pallbearers were Earl Shinn, Jr., Afton Smith, Glyndon Johnson, John Withrow, Jr., J. L. Parker and John Gibson.

Requested songs sung at the funeral service included "I'll be Satisfied," and "The Old Rugged Cross."

Mr. Ledbetter was born in Kennon Co., Tenn., Nov. 13, 1874, and moved to this section at an early age. He was engaged in farming until a few years ago when his age and health required that he retire, and he moved to his home in Huntsville.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Minnie Myrtle Ledbetter of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Ada Baggett and Mrs. Alice Baughman, both of Fullerton, Calif., and Mrs. Cuba Dugois of Grand Rapids, Mich.; five sons, Omer of Fullerton, Lester and Lee, both of Huntsville, Vester, of Fayetteville, and Willie M. of Santa Anna, Calif.; 23 grandchildren and one great grandchild; a sister, Mrs. Paralee Boyd of Fullerton; and two nephews, William A. Boyd and Luther Ledbetter, both of Fullerton.
