FARMINGTON — Shiela Mae Canney, 74, of 270 Main St., died Saturday Nov. 28, 2009 at Frisbie Memorial Hospital after a sudden illness.
Born Sept. 21, 1935 in Rochester NH, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Vera (Canney) Van Buskirk.
Shiela has lived in the local area all her life. She was employed as a shoe worker for Mayberry shoe for many years. She loved knitting and crocheting and going to yard sales.
Members of her family include her husband of 52 years, Mervale V. Canney of Farmington; her sons, Dennis L. Peters Sr. of Columbia, Ronald L Canney of Newmarket, Lawrence Canney of Acton, Maine, Robert W. Canney of Williamsport, Pa., and Jerry J. Canney; her daughters, Sandra Woods of Lebanon, Maine, Suzan L. Hobson of Concord, Brenda Watts of Milton Mills, and Tammy H. Canney of Rochester; a brother, Robert Flewelling of Concord; and a half-sister, Patty Van Buskirk of Acton, Maine; 26 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday 10 a.m. to noon, with a funeral service to be held at noon in the chapel of the R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 South Main St., Rochester NH 03867.
Burial will be held in the Kimball Cemetery following the service.
