Mrs. Margaret H. Yates, 84, a retired nurse, died at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, August 5, in Thomas Nursing Home, where she had lived 6 years.
Mrs. Yates first came to Collingsworth County more than 40 years ago, and lived in the Lutie community. Later she lived in Amarillo, and following her retirement, returned here about 10 years ago.
A native Texas, she was born at Deport, December 12, 1887, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Harris.
She was a member of the Baptist Church and the Eastern Star.
Surviving Mrs. Yates are a daughter, Mrs. Marguerite Sass of Clovis, NM; a son, Russell Yates of Wellington; and two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Smith of Lancaster, CA and Mrs. Lillie Yaughn of Houston.
