Frank H. Royal, pioneer Collingsworth County land owner and merchant, died early this afternoon at his home in Wellington. He was stricken suddenly while getting ready to go to town.
Mr. Royal, who was 72 years old, came here 52 years ago and lived on a section of land southwest of Wellington. In 1911, he helped to establish the Pioneer Hardware Company, which he operated until two years ago.
Mr. Royal would have become 73 years old tomorrow.
He was a native of Sampson County, North Carolina and came with his parents to Texas when he was a small boy. They settled in Hunt County.
He came to this section before the organization of the county in 1896. He was married to Miss Sarah Jane Harris, in Wellington.
He is survived by his widow and six children, Ralph Royal, Harris Royal, Tom Royal, Miss Bess Royal, Mrs. Carl Sphinx and Mrs. Alton Abbot.
