Mrs. Roberta Coffee, wife of Joseph Coffee, died at her home at 2:30 a.m. Thursday, February 25, after an extended period of ill health. She had lived in Wellington since 1931.
Mrs. Coffee was an active worker in the Church of God in Christ and worked and helped in many ways in her neighborhood, among her friends, and with those who needed help.
She was born Roberta Johnson, in St. Louis, MO, December 25, 1910, the daughter of Mrs. Ella Johnson and the late Same Johnson. Reared in St. Louis, she came with her family to Fort Worth and was married there to Joseph Coffee on February 19, 1929.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph Coffee of Wellington; one daughter, Mrs. Ernestine Baker of Clovis, NM; her mother, Mrs. Ella Johnson of Wellington; a sister, Mrs. Pearline Johnson of Clovis, NM; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
