Rock Musician. A guitarist and vocalist, he was a founding member of the Welsh music group "Man." Influenced by American Rock n' Roll musicians during the 1950s, while in his early teens he learned the guitar and formed the group "The Bystanders." After undergoing the name change to "Man," they adopted the psychedelic progressive rock music-style of American West Coast groups and emerged as one of the most popular bands to hail from Wales during that period. They first recorded with the Pye record label, and later with United Artists, culminating their most successful artistic period with the 1975 live album "Maximum Darkness," which was highlighted with contributions from "Quicksilver Messenger Service's" guitarist John Cipollina. In 1976, they disbanded to pursue solo careers. They reunited and remained intact until Jones departure in 2002 due to the discovery of a brain tumor. He rejoined them in 2004, but left for good following the recurrence of further brain tumors in 2005.
