Third born child of Abraham Carbaugh of Adams County, PA (1792-1865) and Catherine/Catarina Bittinger/Bitinger Carbaugh born 1794-1798 in Adams County PA.. Died 1858 in Somerset County, PA.

Mrs. Sarah C. Carbaugh died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harriet Hart, at South Main Street, at five oclock, Tuesday morning. Mrs. Carbaugh was the widow of the late Adam Carbaugh who died at Upper Strasburg many years ago. She was in her seventy-ninth year and a member of the First Lutheran Church. She is survived by the following children: Mrs. George Hart of Chambersburg; John Carbaugh of Chambersburg; Mrs. J.V.B. Leedy of Upper Strasburg; Mrs. Harry Wilson of Donora; James Carbaugh of Stenger; and Jefferson Carbaugh of Virginia. Funeral is Friday morning at 8:30 oclock. The service will be held at the home of Mrs. Hart, Thursday evening at 7:30 oclock. Interment in the Reformed and Lutheran graveyard, Upper Strasburg. Mrs. Carbaugh is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
