Theodore Fitterer, aged eight-six, died yesterday afternoon at one of the local hospitals after an extended illness from dropsy. Mr. Fitterer was one of the oldest residents of Mankato Township, having lived there since 1855. He took a very active part in the Indian outbreaks and was a witness of the hanging of the thirty-eight redskins here in 1862. He was very well known in Blue Earth County and his many friends join in sympathy because of his death. He is survived by two daughters and three sons. They are Mrs. Joseph Muck (Mock) of Mankato Township, Mrs. Joseph Danzer of Bird Island, Henry Fitterer of Beauford and Frank and Philip Fitterer of Ellensburg, Washington. For a number of years Mr. Fitterer has made his home with Mrs. Muck in Mankato Township. His wife died thirty-seven years ago. The funeral will be held Saturday morning at nine o'clock at the German Catholic Church. Internment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
