ROBERT LEE HERRING
FREE UNION - Robert Lee Herring, 69, retired farmer of Free Union, died Saturday night at a Charlottesville, Virginia hospital. He was born May 30, 1897, in Albemarle County,Virginia a son of the late Thomas and Nealie Shifflett Herring. He was a member of the Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Rosa Michael Herring; five sons, Edward Herring of McLean, Howard Herring and Walter Herring of Dyke, Robert Elmer Herring of Proffit, and Claude Herring of Ruckersville; five daughters, Mrs. Beulah Via of White Hall, Mrs. Christine Morris and Mrs. Dorothy Deane of Charlottesville, Mrs. Irene Wood and Mrs. Margaret Easton of Free Union; seven brothers, Kenny Herring of Crozet, Charles Herring of Earlysville, Claude Herring and Henry Herring of Baltimore, Md., Joe Herring of Dyke, Arthur Herring of Remington and James Herring of Free Union; 27 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Gentry's Methodist Church at Boonesville, with burial in the church cemetery. Preddy - Teague Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
