He was born May 23, 1929, in Carson Valley, son of Abraham and Grace (Klink) Pletcher. He married Elaine Kovensky March 3, 1959.

Surviving are his wife, two daughters; Melanie at home, and Kathleen in Ohio.

Siblings: Marling, Gladys, Vernon, Eugene,Bonnie, Abe Jr., Shirley.

Retired from Conrail in 1985.

Military Army Air Force veteran WWII.
