D. A. "Dick" Argys, veteran motor car dealer in Salida, died Saturday evening at his home, following a long illness. Mr. Argys was 64 years of age.

Mr. Argys came to this country from Greece in 1903. He worked on the railroad for a time and in 1912 went into the grocery business, which later was purchased by his brother, Theodore.

He has been in the automobile business consecutively since 1918, the longest of any dealer in Salida. His also is one of the oldest Nash agencies in the country. The Argys company has had the International Harvester agency for 28 years, and this year marked the thirtieth year with the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co.

He was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church, G. A. T. A. lodge, and the Pan-Arcadian association.
