Elizabeth "Bette" Cable, 81, a lifetime Salida resident, died June 25, 2006, at Columbine Manor Nursing Home.

She was born Feb. 5, 1925, in Salida to Dick and Carrie (Limberis) Argys.

Mrs. Cable was a kindergarten teacher in Salida for more than 30 years. She was a former member of Chapter P of P.E.O. and a member of St. Johns Greek Orthodox Church of Pueblo.

Vibrant, outgoing and always smiling, she loved Salida, its residents and its visitors. She could often be found downtown enjoying a sunny morning chatting with friends and visitors.

Survivors are her daughter, Kerrie (Dave) Chelf of Salida; brother, Chris (Mary) Argys of West Falmouth, Mass.; grandchildren, Ryan and Jon Chelf of Salida; uncle, Jim Limberis of Salida and best friend, Mary Purdy of Salida.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Cable.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. June 30, 2006, at Ascension Episcopal Church in Salida. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Greek Orthodox Church of Pueblo through Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home.
