Mrs. O.P. Coats of Poyner, died suddenly at a hospital in Jacksonville. She had been there several days for an operation and it was thought she had recovered sufficiently to be removed to her home. It was while she was in cheerful conversation with friends that the end came suddenly. She was to have been returned to her home in the afternoon. Relatives who had been with her had returned to their home, one son going on to Nacogdoches to enter the Stephen F. Austin College. Mrs. Coats had many friends in Jacksonville, where she and her family often visited. Her husband was principal of the Dialville school before accepting a position in Frankston. Also, one of her sons, Percy, attended high school here graduating in 1927.

Mrs. Coats is survived by her husband; two sisters, Mrs. T.M. Sanders and Mrs. M.H. Murphy of Nocogdoches; four brothers, J.R. McKnight and J.D. McKnight of Oklahoma City, Arch McKnight of Bupson, and Frank McKnight of Denton; two sons, Percy and William; and two daughters, Olga and Marguerite.
