Georgia Pauline Mayes, 88, of Paducah, formerly of Marion, died Nov. 19, 2000, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah. She was of Methodist faith, was a past Worthy Matron of Grand Rivers Chapter #484 Order of Eastern Star, a Kentucky Colonel and Dutchess of Paducah.

Survivors include a son, Michael S. Mayes of Paducah; two sisters, Grace Blair of Owensboro and Virgie Reisinger of Lexington; two brothers, G.E. Arflack of Owensboro and William E. Arflack of Marion; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe Mayes; a son, Ronald Mayes; and a daughter, Jerri Hadfield.
Funeral services were held Nov. 22 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Charlie Brantley officiating. Burial was in Rosebud Cemetery.
