Funeral services for Mr. J. B. Averitt, 84, of Livingston will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 19, from First Christian Church in Livingston, TN with burial in the Overton County Memorial Gardens, Livingston, TN.
Mr. Averitt died on January 16, 2002, at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was born April 22, 1917 in Overton County to the late John Kelly (Jack) and Lou Ella Clark Averitt. He was the lifetime owner of Averitt's Mobil.
He was a member and Deacon of First Christian Church, Livingston; a charter member of the Civitan Club, Veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp, member of the American Legion, and former Alderman for the City of Livingston.
He is survived by his wife, Leona Averitt of Livingston; daughter, Peggy Endicott of Knoxville; son, Ricky Averitt of Livingston; sisters, Reba Diemer of Cookeville, Ethelene Crabtree of Clarksville, and Johnnye Marie Seaton of Wilmington, NC; and 1 granddaughter, Bethany Endicott of Vail, CO.
