Graveside services for RICHARD LEE GROSKOPF, aged 70, will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, June 28, 2008, at the Valley View Cemetery in Torrington, Wyoming. Mr. Groskopf died in Las Palomas, Mexico, while on a day trip there, Friday, January 11, 2008.

Richard was born March 5, 1937 at Mitchell, Nebraska, the son of John and Marie (Barthuly) Groskopf. He attended school at Hawk Springs, Wyoming. He joined the U.S. Army November 15, 1956 and after a short time in the service, he married Carol Jean Pomeroy in 1958 in Torrington. She preceded him in death in Torrington in November, 1977.

He enjoyed fishing and being in the great outdoors. He later married Joan Slavin in 1982 in Torrington. She preceded him in death in May, 2003. He drove over-the-road truck for Consolidated Freightline until retirement.

He is survived by one son, David (Donna), of Camano Island, Washington; one daughter, Rhonda Dayleen (Steve) Harkin of Vancouver, Washington; 2 grandsons, Mitchell John Groskopf and Tyler Groskopf; 3 granddaughters, Amanda Grassechi and Jennifer Harkin and Mary Jean Groskopf; 1 great-grandson, Wyatt Groskopf, and 1 great-granddaughter, Shelby Groskopf; 2 brothers, Melvin Groskopf of Morrill, Nebraska; Wayne (Linda) Groskopf of Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada; 2 sisters, Margaret Marlett of Riverside, California; and Judy (Gary) Halstead of Torrington; numerous nieces and nephews; 5 sisters-in-law, and 4 brothers-in-law; and 2 stepsons and their families and one stepdaughter and her family; and two step-granddaughters, Roberta Bender and Ashley Weidenhamer, and one stepgreatgrandson, Alaric Bender. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Carol Jean, his wife, Joan Emily, his younger son, Mark Allen Groskopf, his brother Robert, his sister, Sandra Bush and his nephew, Randy Gibbs.
