FORMER RESIDENT OF LONE TREE DIES
Iowa City, Iowa, Jan. 29. – Dennis Carey, aged 86 on New Year's eve, formerly chairman of the Johnson county board of supervisors, is dead at his home in Iowa City. Surviving are three sons and one daughter, J. W., Martine and James of Lone Tree, and May of Iowa City. Mr. Carey was a member of the 35th Iowa regiment and served throughout the civil war. He resided in Johnson county more than 50 years, in Iowa city during the last 18 years, and prior thereto in or near Lone Tree. The remains will be taken to Nichols for interment.
