Services for Charles Walter Fritz, 86, retired railroad yard foreman who died Friday, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Fred Bader Chapel. The Rev. Allen Wine of the Pentecostal Church will officiate.
Mr. Fritz was born June 17, 1870 on a farm at Leon, Iowa and lived there until he was 14 years old. He went to Missouri and in 1906 he came in the western part of Nebraska. In 1924 he came to Fremont and worked for the Burlington railroad until he retired in 1949.
He married Sylvia Knapp in April 1900 at Grove Springs, Mo. and preceded him in death in March, 1939.
The last two weeks he spent at Omaha with a daughter, while there he suffered a stroke.
Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Carrie Barton of Fremont; Mrs. Paul Sharp of Harding, Mont.; Mrs. Earl Hanna of Sterling, Colo; Mrs. Hugo Holmberg of Fremont; Mrs. Ed Garrison of Roseburg, Ore.; Mrs. Carl Man of Omaha; seven sons, John of Broken Bow, Nebr; Jim and Bob of Charleston, Ore.; Carl of Tulsa, Okla.; Richard of Fremont; Bert of Springfield, Illinois.; Walter of St. George, Utah.
Also four brothers, George, Lous and Bert of Melvin, Iowa; Alfred in Wise; three sisters, Mrs. Rosa Martin of Bakersfield, Calif.; Mrs. Eva Higgins of Tulsa, Okla.; Mrs. Anna Martin of Heartville, Mo; forty-two grandchildren and forty-nine great grandchildren.
Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery. Bader funeral Home is in charge.
