Viola was one of thirteen children born to Eli Robert Boothe and Hester Ann Miller Boothe. She married Miles "Tunney" Gartman in 1903 when she was fifteen years old.
They had nine children:
1.Charles Miles (who was killed in a sawmill accident in 1940)
2.Ruby Lee(Frost & later Chancellor)
3.Floyd Garner
4.Mamie Elizabeth (Pierce)
5.Joseph Vernon
6.Paul Griggs
7.Eli Edmund
8.Hester Viola (she was called "Bootsie" and she died from tuberculosis while she was seven months pregnant in 1950
9.they also had a stillborn baby who may have been named Quitman.
Viola was my great grandmother and although I was only 4 years old when she died, I remember her. She lived in a big old house at the Mobile/Washington County line with her son Garner at the time.

The group photo attached is of Viola and her siblings. I do not know the date of the photo. I believe Viola is on the far left and it may be Eran standing next to her. The two men, are probably Leslie and Cecil. If anyone has any info regarding this photo, please contact me. Thanks!
