When the word announcing that Mrs. Sarah Cyphert, of Limestone township, had passed over to enter upon the immortal life on Saturday evening, August 30, 1930, there was a feeling of profound sadness throughout this section. Mrs. Cyphert had been sick about two years. The deceased was the widow of the late Hon. Henry Cyphert, of Limestone township. She was born February 7, 1836, the daughter of Robert and Jane English Allison, and spent practically all her life in the township. She was a remarkable woman in her purity and uprightness of character and life; her devotion to her community in all of its interests that made for improvement and in Christian influence upon all with whom she came in contact. She was a lifelong member of the Baptist Church and was loyal to her Saviour throughout her life. Her husband preceded her in death, but she is survived by four sons and one daughter, namely: Robert H. Cyphert and 1. A. Cyphert, of Clarion; G. M. Cyphert, of Butler; 1. W. Cyphert, of Waynesburg, and Mrs. Albert Dietrick, of Limestone township. There also survive a goodly number of grandchildren with hosts of relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at her late home Tuesday afternoon, September 2Ild, at 2:30 o'clock, by Rev. Clawson, pastor of Limestone Baptist Church. The aged body was laid to rest in the Limestone cemetery to await the resurrection of the just.
