Awarded Silver Star for WWII US Marines, Awarded 5 plus Bronze Stars. Shot in the arm during Guadalcanal and did not remove himself from the battlefield. Never asked for and never received Purple Heart. Bullet still in his arm. Joined US Marines right out of High School before WWII started. Was the first wave at Guadalcanal (Fought at Bloody Ridge, River, Henderson Field). Fought at many other islands including the Battle for Peleliu. Was in the South Pacific the entire war. After war graduated Vanderbilt Law School. JAG and judge Lt Col in US Air Force., later international attorney D.C. and Federal Judge. Ref.
