NEWSPAPER OBITUARY - October 14, 1900 Vernal Express - One of the most sudden deaths that has occurred here for some time was the death of little Clara, the four year old daughter of Mrs. Nellie Woodruff of Glines ward. The little one had a slight cold for some time but otherwise was apparently as well as the other children. She was taken very sick suddenly a week ago Thursday, and the mother becoming alarmed summoned medical aid, but notwithstanding this, the little girl sank rapidly, and passed away about seven o'clock last Saturday night. The father of the little girl came in Sunday from a prospecting trip and called to see them. Monday morning a message was sent to Wilford, the eldest brother of little Clara, also to the relatives at Salt Lake City. Mrs. Emma M. Woodruff and Wilford telegraphed that they would be present at the funeral, if it was delayed until Thursday. This was done. The funeral services were held at the Glines ward meeting house, a large number of sympathizing friends being present, and several elders spoke comforting words to the bereaved relatives. The remains were interred in the Mill ward cemetery.
