San Antonio Express, San Antonio, Texas - January 6, 1953

The Rev. Floyd Allan Bash, D.D., former San Antonio civic leader and the first pastor of Central Christian Church here, died of a heart attack Monday morning in Dallas. He was 68. Dr. Bash retired about a year ago because of ill health. He had gone to live in Dallas sometime before his retirement. He had held several executive positions in the Brotherhood of the Disciples of Christ. His pastorates included churchs in Des Moines, Colorado Springs, Colo., Palestine, Texas, as well as San Antonio.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Floyd Allan Bash of Dallas; three sons, The Rev. Lawrence Bash, pastor of Austin's University Christian Church, Dr. Wendell Bash, a Cornell University faculty member, and Floyd Allan Bash, Jr., of Des Moines; and two daughters, Mrs. J. Miller of Albuquerque, and Mrs. Hugh A. Riley of Dallas. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the East Dallas Christian Church.
