Grandson of Thomas Bones 1753–1830 and Susannah Rowland 1766–1820
His Grandfather, Thomas Bones came to America from Ireland and became an American Revolutionary War Freedom Fighter. He was a Carrier of Dispatches for General George Washington and participated in many battles with Col. John Durke's 4th Regiment 1777-1780 and the Tredyffrin Twp Chester County, PA 4th Battalion 6th Company Mlitia Under Capt. Jonathan Rowland and Capt. David Wilson 1782.
