Mrs. Sarah P. Hartsell, aged 57, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. J. Branch, 2400 Pike Avenue, North Little Rock, at 12:30 a.m. yesterday. She was born in Mississippi and moved to Arkansas when but six years old. She was married to Atlas M. Hartsell in 1877. Her husband died in 1895.
Mrs. Hartsell is survived by three children, Mrs. J. J. Branch and Harry V. Hartsell, both of North Little Rock, and Homer H. Hartsell of this city; one sister, Mrs. Ellen Lungren of Texarkana, and four grandchildren. She was a member of the First Baptist church, North Little Rock.
Funeral services were held at the residence of her daughter at 4:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon, in charge of the Rev. A. H. Curl. Burial was in Oakland cemetery. [from the Arkansas Gazette, Little Rock, Arkansas, Thursday, September 19, 1918, page 14]
