Noah Cleveland Jenkins was born Monday, January 16, 1911 in the Oakville Community of Lawrence County, Alabama, to Jess J. Jenkins and Lillie Parker Jenkins. ~ He married Gertrude Hensley, a daughter ofJohn Pruitt Hensley and Liddie Pearl McCormick Hensley . ~ Noah C. Jenkins

NEWTON, N.C. - Noah Cleveland Jenkins, 83, of Newton, died Thursday at a Black Mountain hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home in Decatur, Ala, with the Rev. Johnny Huey officiating.

Burial was to be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Jenkins; three sons, Brintz Jenkins of Jacksonville, Fla., Carl Printess Jenkins of Newton and Jarold Jenkins of Charlotte; two brothers, Bill Jenkins of Pontiac, Mich. and Rufe Jenkins of Bradenton. Fla.; three sisters, Mable Byars of Hartford, Mich., Sally Maude Newton of Lake City, Fla. and Allie Pearl McCay of Three Rivers, Mich.: eight grandchildren and JO great-grandchildren.
