John, a soldier during the war of 1812, was the son of Henry Beighley (b.1768, d.9Aug1839) of Maryland and Anna Catherine Milliron (b.1769, d.25Feb1856) a twin from Berks County, Pennsylvania, who were married in Pennsylvania on 23Dec1817. John was born on 1 Jun 1794 in North Huntington Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.
Between 1825 and 1836 Sarah & John had 8 children they named: Henry, William Rice, Ruth Ann Catherine, Tewalt Roderker, Elizabeth "Mary", Elmina/Emma, Martha Jane and John David Beighley. Mary & Emma were twin sisters.
Sarah and John were reported in the 1850 census as living in East Connoquenessing, Butler Co., PA All of their children were born in Butler Co., PA.
The family moved to Sylvan, Richland Co., Wisconsin in 1857. John, a farmer and sawmill operator, had secured forty acres of wild land, eventually developing a good farm of 120 acres by the time of his death in 1860.
