Paul F. Baker Rites Sunday

Paul F. Baker, 45, of Oil Center, a Lea County resident for 19 years, died in a local hospital last night. He had been stricken ill yesterday afternoon while at work.

His death was attributed to a heart attack.

Mr. Baker was a switcher for the Gulf Oil Corp. He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ruth Baker of Oil Center; two daughters, Mrs. A.A. Calder of Leavenworth, Kans., and Mrs. James Williams of Oil Center; two sons, Paul F. Baker Jr. and Jon R. Baker, both of Oil Center.

His father, H.C. Baker of Stamford, Tex.; two sisters, Mrs. M.J. Curteman of Tulsa, Okla. and Mrs. G.L. Rinehart of Odessa, Tex.; three brothers, H.C. Baker Jr. and N.W. Baker, both of Avoca, Tex. and J.A. Baker of Hayward, Calif.; and two grandsons.

Funeral services are planned at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Oil Center Baptist Church with the Rev. James D. Powell, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens of Hobbs. Griffin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers include Olin Davis, O.R. Kemp, Floyd Clement, Carl Pasley, R.S. Miears, and A.P. Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers will be other employes of the Gulf Oil Corp.
