Marjorie E. Cramer, 89, of Bowen, died on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, at her home in Bowen.

She was born on July 4, 1920, near Bentley, a daughter of Ervin and Opal Pearl Smith Akers. She married Jack O. Cramer on Jan. 17, 1938, in Kahoka, Mo. He died on Dec. 17, 1990.

Marjorie is survived by one daughter, Cheryl (Max) Scott of Canton; one son, Radley Cramer of Accord, N.Y.; one daughter-in-law, Judy Cramer, of Carthage; one sister, Mildred Quivey of Oakland, Illinois; five grandchildren, Mitch (Lisa) Scott, Marcy (Julie) Scott, Mindy (Terry) Keigher, Scott (Evonne) Cramer and Eric (Jane) Cramer; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son, Ron Cramer; two sisters, Dorothy Lummis and Jean Ramsey; and one brother, Jim Akers.

Marjorie was a self-employed hairdresser in Bowen for many year, retiring in 1992. She attended Bowen High School. She was a member of the Bowen Christian Church, Bowen American Legion Auxiliary, Hancock County RSVP, and Augusta Senior Citizens Center.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb 11, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta. Rev. Tom Mehaffy officiated. Burial followed in Harmony Cemetery near Denver.

Visitation was held on Thursday until the time of services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the Bowen Chrisitian Church or the Augusta Senior Citizens Center.
